In game development, a “RIGID BODY” refers to an object that cannot bend or deform. Its behavior is entirely governed by the rules of the system, leaving no room for independent choice.
This work draws on that concept to reflect the world we now live in — one where daily life is increasingly shaped by gamified systems. From daily trackers to social media and digital platforms, our actions are monitored, quantified, and subtly guided by invisible design.
Using surveillance devices, the work captures the presence of participants and transforms them into pixels inside a virtual environment. These figures move according to predefined logic, no longer driven by personal intention, but by the invisible architecture of code.
Here, the human body becomes a data-driven unit — a “rigid body” that can no longer bend, and is no longer allowed to log out.
在遊戲設計中,「RIGID BODY」指的是一種無法變形的物件,它的行動完全依照系統所設定的規則運作,沒有自由選擇的空間。
本作品以此概念出發,回應我們身處的世界 —— 一個幾乎所有事物都被遊戲化的時代。從日常應用程式到社交平台,我們的行為被追蹤、被量化,也被默默地設計與引導。
觀眾的身影被監視裝置即時捕捉,轉化為虛擬世界中的像素。這些角色在一套預設邏輯下活動,其存在方式已不再取決於自身意志,而是服從於一個看不見的系統。
在這個世界裡,人被簡化為資料與反應的單位,成為一具「RIGID BODY」—— 不再能夠變形,
也不再被允許離線。
